2023 Competition Information

Convention Starts at 6:00 PM

 

Adult contestants (individual and bands) may register at any time on Friday beginning at 4:00 PM. Registration will be open through the evening. Even if you registered on line, you must go to the Welcome Center to pick up you number.  Friday competition will be individual and band competition.  There will not be a set schedule for Friday night.  Competition begins at 6:00 PM and goes until the last one competes.

  • Guitar

  • Bass

  • Autoharp

  • Mandolin

  • Banjo (Bluegrass)

  • Banjo (Claw Hammer)

  • Dulcimer 

  • Dobro

  • Folk Song

  • Harmonica 

Bands

  • Band (Old Time)

  • Band (Bluegrass)

Convention begins 11:00 AM with Youth Individual Competition.  Youth Bands to follow immediately. Awards will be presented to Youth after Youth Bands. 

 

There will be a break between Youth and Adult Competition.
 

Contestants (individual and bands) may begin registering at 11:00 AM-5:00PM.  All individual contestants will perform before 6:00 PM when the adult band competition begins.

 

Dance Competitors will need to be registered by 5:00 PM. Competition will begin at 8:30 PM on Saturday, June 10th.

 

***ALL SONGS MUST BE FROM THE PUBLIC DOMAIN.

  • Flatfoot Dance - "No taps allowed in flatfoot dance contest." The judges will be judging the footwork, not the sound.

***Note: Being the 2nd Abingdon Fiddlers' Convention, the schedule is subject to change without notice. Updates will be made closer to convention. Also, will be updated on social media.  Pre-Registration and Camping Reservations highly recommended.
